Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Motion Steady. They are written to be read, not to hide in. If you bought Motion Steady on Steam, your purchase is also governed by Valve's Steam Subscriber Agreement, which comes first where the two overlap.
1. The agreement
By installing or using Motion Steady you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not install the app, and if you bought it on Steam, request a refund under Valve's standard policy.
2. Your license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Motion Steady for its intended purpose: making your own gaming sessions more comfortable. You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute the app. One purchase applies to one Steam account (or one machine, for a standalone build).
3. Early Access
Motion Steady launches on Steam as an Early Access product. It is fully usable today, but it is in active development: features, defaults and designs may change, and roadmap items are plans, not promises. Descriptions on our website and the store page describe the current state of the product in good faith, and we will keep them accurate as it evolves.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not reverse engineer the app, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
- Do not remove or obscure brand notices in the app.
- Do not use Motion Steady to break the rules of any game, service or platform.
5. Games, anti-cheat and fair play
Motion Steady is a passive, external overlay. It never injects into, hooks, or reads the memory of any game process, and it is designed to be safe with anti-cheat systems. Still, the rules of each game you play are set by its publisher, and it is your responsibility to follow them. If a game's rules forbid overlay software of any kind, do not run Motion Steady with that game.
6. Not a medical device
Motion Steady is a comfort tool. It is not a medical device and it is not a treatment. Nothing about the app, this website or our communications is medical advice, and nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. If motion sickness affects you severely or persistently, consult a healthcare professional.
7. Refunds
Purchases made on Steam follow Valve's standard refund policy: you can request a refund within 14 days of purchase if you have used the app for under two hours. For standalone builds, contact us and we will make it right.
8. The app is provided "as is"
Motion Steady is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We work hard to keep it stable, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, bug-free, or compatible with every game, hardware setup or future version of Windows.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Motion Steady's developers and publisher are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost playtime, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it.
10. Third-party trademarks
Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation. Windows is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation. Motion Steady is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation or Microsoft Corporation. Any other game or product names mentioned belong to their respective owners.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. The "last updated" date above shows the current version, and material changes will be called out in our community hub. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [the developer's jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
